At the Cisco Live event, NetApp wowed the crowd with a fun and creative experience using SketchBots. For 25 hours over 4 days, over 2,000 people lined up at the booth to get their robotic drawn portraits. Over 1,000 of these sketches became a tile for building the NetApp logo, creating a SketchBot Mosaic.
Taking SketchBots a Step Further
SketchBots are smart robots that draw people’s faces with amazing speed and detail. At the NetApp booth, three SketchBots were working every day throughout the event. In total, they drew over 2,000 sketches during the event!
Each person who got sketched also got a sticker of their drawing to place on a big board to help build the SketchBot Mosaic. By the end of the event, over 1,000 portraits were used to complete the mosaic.
Not Just a Sketch Mosaic
Not only were people a part of the mosaic but they even got to take home their own sketched portrait on a 4×6” branded takeaway. They even got a digital version of their sketch in an email to share via social channels, and to remind them of NetApp’s cool booth.
The booth was full of energy and smiles as people watched the robots work and added their sketches to the growing wall, some even took videos of the robot in action for their social channels. It was one of the most popular spots at the whole event.
Why a SketchBot Mosaic is So Special
NetApp showed how SketchBot Mosaics can turn a simple booth into something fun, creative, and unforgettable. It brought people together, gave them something to talk about, and let them take part in a shared project.
With SketchBots drawing portraits and SketchBot Mosaics bringing everyone’s sketches together, NetApp’s booth was more than just a tech display, it was a community experience.
