A Big Moment at the Global Citizen Festival
In September 2023, over 11,000 people came together for the two day Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York City to support the on-going hunger crisis. While famous artists like Latto and Conan Gray performed live, a giant screen showed a photo mosaic for change. It was made to support a petition calling for global change and for world leaders to Face Up to Hunger.
People Around the World Took Part
Everyone at the festival—and even people watching from home—could take part. All they had to do was send in a selfie. These selfies helped support Global Citizen’s mission to help the 50 million people on the bring of starvation.
In total, over 11,000 photos were submitted in two days to be part of the final display. Each person’s photo became a small tile in a much bigger picture.
A Powerful Photo Mosaic Creator Made It Happen
To bring all these images together, the project used a high-tech photo mosaic maker. This tool took thousands of individual photos and carefully arranged them into one meaningful image. The mosaic was shown live on a huge custom display during the concert.
The team worked with us and our photo mosaic creator to make sure every photo fit just right. This let people see themselves on screen in real time, and feel like they were part of something bigger.
A Selfie That Meant Something More
This wasn’t just about taking selfies—it was about being seen and heard. By using a photo mosaic, the project turned simple pictures into a powerful message for change.
Even if someone couldn’t be there in person, their selfie still helped make a difference. It showed that small actions, when added together, can have a big impact.
Change Happens One Photo at a Time
The Global Citizen photo mosaic proved that art and technology can work together to inspire people. With the help of our photo mosaic maker, a simple idea became a global symbol of unity.
Thousands of people stood together—one photo at a time.
