| What is dpi? |
|
| DPI stands for "dots
per inch". The more dots per inch (dpi) a printer is capable
of, the better that printer is at printing small detailed images.
Most print shops are only capable of large format printing at a maximum
of 300 or 600 dpi; unfortunately this is not suitable for mosaic printing.
Picture Mosaics uses only large format printers capable of printing at
2880+ dpi and above (which is 2 to 4 times photo quality). This
allows the cell images (the small pictures within the mosaic) to be
crystal clear. In fact, we print at such a high resolution that you
can optically magnify our mosaics to reveal even greater detail. We
also only use heavyweight glossy photo paper and premium canvas. The end result is a
highly detailed, vivid mosaic that will be enjoyed for years to come! |
